Race 2 - Milby

Chris Clark wins from Jonathon Watson as the break beats the bunch

Race 2 in the Chevin Cycles Road Race series was held on the Milby flat circuit, near Boroughbridge over 32 miles.
Race leader Giles Pidcock (crosstrax) had to settle for 3rd place this time, when 2 escapees, Jonathan Watson ( 04 cycleshops.com ) and Chris Clark ( VC York ) sped away from the bunch, with 1st place going to Chris Clark at his first attempt at the Chevin Series.

Team Chevin riders showed well on the night, Trevor Larcombe took the points prime by beating his team mate, Lee Owen-Stanford, with 2 more Chevin riders making it into the top ten, Steve Whitehurst and Marc Help. Even 15 year old junior Gabby Shaw made it into a mini break that briefly went away on the 3rd lap.
First rider to score for the Bob Jackson team was Dave Meakin in 9th place on a night when 2 of his team mates were on marshal duties.
